Old Bay Snack Mix
Pretzels, Cheez-It's, and peanuts.
This snack mix is all things good. It’s awesome to have on hand for a week's worth of snacking, munching on while binge watching something on Netflix, or to take to a get together you are invited to. I have even stuck it on my ‘cookie’ platters at Christmas for a savory element.
Fair warning, this makes a TON. It’s also addictive. So eating it all isn’t typically a problem for us. If you like chex mix, you have to try this. It’s a jazzed up, fresh new version. It has the right amount of heat from the old bay and coolness from the ranch. It does not lack in flavor.
If you aren't familiar with Old Bay, it's a seasoning blend of celery salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and paprika. It's wonderful on seafood and poultry.
Here’s How You Do It
- 1 (18 oz.) Bag Mini Pretzel Twists
- 1 Bag Oyster Crackers
- 1 Box Cheez-It’s
- 2 Cups Mixed Nuts or Peanuts
- 2 Envelopes Dry Ranch
- 4 Tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
- 1 Cup Oil or Melted Butter
Place pretzels, crackers, Cheez-It’s, and nuts in a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together dry ranch, old bay seasoning, and oil/butter. Pour mixture over snack mix and toss gently to coat. Spread on 2 baking sheets. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. After every 10 minute stir, I would rotate which rack the cookie sheet was on, to make sure that everything cooked evenly.
Store in an airtight container.
